New Kitchen and Farm Project in Los Planes

Our second teaching kitchen in a community school has started construction in Los Planes. This is a renovation of a part of the existing school to create a larger working space with more traditional ovens with modern ventilation, running water for cleaning raw foods and new counter space for food preparation.

New Kitchen, Water and Sanitation project in Campo Verde

In an effort to create permanent solutions to food and water insecurity, ViviendasLeón is proposing a project that includes a rainwater catchment system and composting toilets at a rural school. The design addresses the challenges of unreliable water for flushing toilets and collects rainwater for important hygiene uses.

Kitchen Project in Los Manantiales

Since early April 2019, ViviendasLeón has been building rural school kitchens to support nutrition, education, early childhood development, and hygiene for mothers and children in the Mayan highlands of Guatemala.

Low Cost Housing 2012

The low cost housing project is the product of a partnership between ViviendasLeon and the University of San Francisco School of Architecture. Student teams developed a series of design alternatives, exploring various construction and material options. The first house was constructed of wood framing and siding with a metal roof in 2012.
