Brian Tyler, Travel Coordinator, Guatemala
I was raised in Memphis, TN and received my bachelor’s degree in Global Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2008. In 2009, I joined the Peace Corps, serving in Guatemala as a Youth Development Program Officer in Sololá, the historic colonial town of Lake Atitlán. After serving for 2 years and 3 months in a Kaqchiquel town in the region, I decided to continue to live and work in Guatemala, facilitating intercultural exchanges and service learning projects. My previous work experience comes from my time at the Guatemala offices of Global Leadership Adventures and Sister Parish Inc. I have had the privilege to travel to many parts of Guatemala and the United States and have experienced the great cultural diversity of both countries. My primary goal with any trip is to meet people where they are and accompany them along their journey in self-development. Accompanying others is also rewarding to me, as I continue to learn and expand my world view. I hope to make 2019 a memorable year for everyone at ViviendasLeón!
