Carlos Nunez Tellez Preschool 1999

Carlos Nuñez Tellez Preschool is a two-classroom, reinforced cement block building. The project was part of a larger plan to build a primary school and a medical clinic. The project was designed to be accessible to handicapped students. The project presented particular challenges as the community was politically polarized and families struggled because the community is located on land without title to properties, causing insecurity and an inability to leverage the value of their assets. The project was built with the help of the community and volunteers from the United States.
